(Photo by Sheva Kafai) British new wave / post-punk act Modern English have announced the release of “Long in the Tooth”, the British new wave/post-punk band’s first single off their forthcoming album titled “1 2 3 4”.
The new album was produced by Mario J. McNulty (David Bowie, Lou Reed, Nine Inch Nails) with the first single “Long in the Tooth” being the band’s first new offering since 2016’s “Take Me To The Trees”.
“Modern English and its journey, both musical and personal, has spread over 40+ years, and ‘Long in the Tooth’ is a song about this part of that journey,” frontman Robbie Grey says. “As we have reached out into the world and all its changes over all those years, it’s a meditation of getting older in a world that still spins in a chaotic and always interesting way.”
Modern English will be making the following U.S. appearances during September.

Since you’re here …
… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.
Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.
If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
