Many movies have gone on to inspire full games. If you want to find out more about them or want some new games to play, then the only thing you need to do is take a look below.

Star Wars

This movie is a very obvious inclusion. George Lucas’ franchise has easily transformed the entire Hollywood landscape. Without Star Wars, it’s safe to say that Space Invaders would not have been the game that it is today.  Games that include Infinite Space and even No More Heroes’ Light have also gone on to be inspired by Star Wars.

Gladiator

If you love the movie with Russel Crowe, then you’ll be glad to know that the Hollywood blockbuster has also gone on to inspire a ton of games. One of the best movie-themed slots machines would be the Gladiator game. The game takes inspiration from the original movie, and it’s a real hit. You also have a lot of games that incorporate areas for gladiator fighting, whether it’s in the form of a mini-game or whether it’s through an online battle.

Raiders of The Lost Ark

This movie is brilliantly shot; you could even say that it is brimming with energy too. This movie is quite possibly one of the best adventures for Indy, and on top of this, it’s been able to inspire a whole new range of other movies. Lucas and Spielberg should have seized the moment and created a few games themselves, but that said, the games we know and love today wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for this movie. You have Lara Croft, and you have Nathan Drake too. Rick Dangerous wouldn’t have had the same feel had it not been for this movie either.

Blade Runner

Blade Runner is a true masterpiece from the one and only Ridley Scott. The movie is set in a stunning dystopia in the not too distant future.  It’s rain-swept, and it’s full of neon and freaks, not to mention that it has also gone on to inspire countless games. Some of them happen to include Perfect Dark as well as Beneath a Steel Sky. Like many other games, Blade Runner has also seen its video game adaptation. You have a lot of cold-hearted violence in the Syndicate classic game, which helps the whole thing come to life.

The Thing

Lastly, the Thing. This movie may well be a few decades old right now, but it’s safe to say that it sent shockwaves through the movie industry when it came out. Not only has it gone on to inspire video games, but also comic books too. The mutating critters helped to inspire games such as Alien Storm, and you also have the famous Resident Evil series. None of these games would be what they are known for today had it not been for the Thing or the buzz created when it hit the cinema.

Of course, it’s safe to say that many video games have gone on to inspire movies, but at the same time, some movies have inspired video games. None of the games we know and love today would be the same if it were not for these Hollywood blockbusters. Games and movies do go hand-in-hand, and the entertainment industry has thrived as a result. Want to find out more? Why not check out some of the films listed above today.
