Genre/Influences: Dark-Ambient, Cinematic, Soundscape.

Format: Digital.

Background/Info: London based Peter Adjobia is active under the Dragon moniker and also released stuff together with Paul Jetten as Dragon & Jettenbach. This work features six cuts which have been released by Adventurous Music.

Content: The work is the perfect symbiosis between different but related music styles like Dark-Ambient, Cinematic, Soundscape and Experimental music. Dark, linear, soundwaves mixed with different kinds of noises create a visual appeal to the listener.

+ + + : The work is slowly moving until its highlight at the fourth track “IO”. This piece features low sound treatments but especially the heavy, blasting, sounds are getting you in a state of emergency. This track in particular but still the entire work has a strong visual appeal. I prefer the second part of the work revealing the most poignant passages.

– – – : The debut part is a bit monotonous; the tracks missing a little bit of variation.

Conclusion: “Dragon” is an easy listening piece of music which is missing a few peaks to speak about a true success.

Best songs: “IO”, “Mutual exclusion Object”.

Rate: 6.

Since you’re here …

… we have a small favour to ask. More people are reading Side-Line Magazine than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. Unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can - and we refuse to add annoying advertising. So you can see why we need to ask for your help.

Side-Line’s independent journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we want to push the artists we like and who are equally fighting to survive.

If everyone who reads our reporting, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure. For as little as 5 US$, you can support Side-Line Magazine – and it only takes a minute. Thank you.
