About Implant

Implant is a Belgian electro-industrial band which formed in 1992. Their evolution in sound is evident through their discography, showcasing a journey from dark elektro roots to a more dance-oriented electronic style, incorporating elements like goa trance.

In 2000, Implant released the album “Kmputor”, which marked a shift in their music style, moving towards a more dance-oriented electronic sound. This evolution continued with their double-CD album “Unidentified Flying Frequencies”.

After the demise of Flatline Records, they joined Alfa Matrix, a Belgian label, and released the album “Planet Euphoria”. This album was noteworthy for its trancier vibe and the collaboration with Canadian singer Jennifer Parkin.

The band’s album “Horseback Riding Through Bassfields”, released in 2003, was seen as a turning point in their career, combining their darker roots with intelligent electro and a dance edge. Len Lemeire, the mastermind behind Implant, teamed up with classical trained jazz singer Myriam Kuliasko for this album. They also gained recognition for their intense live performances, including appearances at major festivals like the Dour Festival and Eurorock Festival.

Len Lemeire’s expertise in remixing has also earned him respect in the electro community, having remixed tracks for several prominent bands. His collaboration with poet and singer Anne Clark in 2004 further highlights his diverse musical capabilities.

The band experienced a hiatus of four years between albums, attributed to changes in personal and professional life, according to Len Lemeire. Their 10th studio album “Oxynoxe-X” reflects a process of learning and evolution, with Lemeire emphasizing the importance of personal connections and experiences gained through music.

And now they write a new chapter with “The Drive”.
