How to Clean Your Vape Tank: A Step-by-Step Guide
Vaping is often touted as a more hygienic, healthier alternative to smoking. However, in order to ensure that you get the most out of your device, you need to maintain it – part of this means cleaning out your vape tank. For those who aren’t sure how to do that, here’s a step-by-step guide. You can also opt for alternatives like an SKE Amare disposable vape if you’re looking for single-use options.
Gather together what you’ll need
You won’t need much to clean your vape tank. Just the vape tank itself, a bowl of warm or hot water, a little detergent and some cotton buds. For vape tanks that aren’t too dirty, you won’t even need the cotton buds and detergent.
Take the tank to bits
Next, you can start to disassemble the device. How you’ll do this might differ slightly depending on the device that you have; with most complex vapes with detachable tanks from online stores, you’ll want to unscrew the tank, by turning it anti-clockwise. If it’s not incredibly obvious how to do it, then look up the manufacturer’s instructions for specific advice on how to proceed.
Empty the e-liquid from the tank
Before you can clean the tank, you’ll obviously want to empty as much of the remaining e-liquid as possible. It’s generally not good to vape below a certain level, or you can damage the coils. Once you’ve taken the tank off of the device, if you can, take the coil out as well. Once you’ve done that, you can pour out as much of the liquid as possible.
Wash the tank out with warm water
Once you’ve poured as much of the remaining e-liquid out, you can rinse out the tank with warm water. If it’s particularly dirty, you can let it soak in the bowl with some detergent for a few minutes. This should soften up the dirt, allowing you to get it off quite easily with the help of a cotton bud. Be careful with any delicate parts while doing this!
Final rinse and dry
Once you’ve washed out the tank, you can give it a final rinse to ensure that there’s no soap left over. This is important – while soap might be safe to put on your skin, it won’t have been tested for safety in the context of vaping. Use running warm water, and then leave the tank out in an airy dry space until you’re absolutely certain that it’s fully dry.
Reassemble and fill with e-liquid
Once everything is clean and dry, you can put it all back together, making sure you don’t leave any parts out. Make sure you don’t overtighten anything, and then once it’s all put back together, you can put your e-liquid of choice back in. If you’re also replacing the coil, which we’d recommend, then make sure you prime it with a few drops of vape juice so that it doesn’t dry hit straight away.
It’s not difficult to do at all, and if you follow each of the steps listed out in this guide, you should be able to clean your tank in just half an hour or so. If you have any doubts, then we definitely recommend looking up the manufacturer’s manual for instructions that are directly relevant to your specific device.
